About me
I am an oil painter who specializes in portraits and animal studies, driven by a deep fascination with capturing the essence of life itself. My work goes beyond mere representation—I strive to reveal the character and spirit of my subjects, translating fleeting moments and emotions onto canvas rather than simply recording what meets the eye.
My path to art was unconventional. While pursuing a degree in zoology, I discovered that my true calling lay not in studying life through a scientific lens, but in celebrating it through paint and brushwork. The decision to leave my studies and pursue painting full-time wasn't easy—family and friends had understandable concerns, and admittedly, I had no backup plan. But sometimes the most important decisions require a leap of faith.
That leap has led me to dedicate myself entirely to exploring the profound connection between artist and subject. Whether working on a human portrait or an animal study, I'm drawn to those quiet, telling moments that reveal something deeper about who or what I'm painting. Each piece becomes a conversation between observation and interpretation, technique and intuition.
Through my work, I aim to create paintings that resonate on an emotional level, inviting viewers to see beyond the surface and connect with the spirit I've tried to capture in oil and canvas.
