Order a Custom painting

A little about my workflow:

When you come to me with an idea and the size that you have in mind I first see if it is something that I am able to do. I am quite specific with the work that I take on to ensure that I am able to deliver my best quality work.

Reference photos are not necessary but can be useful to explain what you’re looking for. If you have a photo which you would like me to directly work from, it would be ideal for it to be a high quality image to get the best level of detail.

For bigger and more complex paintings, I like to have a zoom call with people who want to order a painting so that we can get a chance to virtually meet to discuss all of the ideas in more detail. Communication is very important for me to properly realise your vision and to talk about details of the painting such as varnishing and framing options.

Before any payment is made, I put together a composition by stitching together photos. This is both to give the client a visual representation of how the painting will look as well as to give myself something to work from.

Once the design has been agreed upon, a 50% deposit is made to cover cancellations and to confirm your place on the waiting list ( if there is one at the time of purchase and you will be indicated a timeframe).

Timeframe:

Commissions can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks depending on the difficulty, size and level of detail involved. I will be able to provide an estimate once I know what the piece will be.

I try my very best to stay within these timeframes but you will be notified if there are any delays.

I send updates throughout the process to make sure that you’re happy with the progression of the painting.

Pricing:

As a reference point, bespoke paintings usually start at £800. A specific quote is given once I know more about the size and level of complexity of the painting.

Postage:

I ship using FedEx or UPS and packaging and postage costs are covered by the buyer. Postage costs for UK deliveries are around £40 and International deliveries anywhere between £60-100. Deliveries to the US previously have been around £70 for east coast and up to £100 for central/west coast. If you would like to know a more specific estimate before buying you can give me your name, address, postcode and the size of painting that you want and I can give you a better estimate for your region. Postage includes insurance to cover in the case of damage during transit.

Upon completion of the painting I will send photos of the finished piece as well as the final invoice for the balance payment and postage costs. Postage usually takes between 1-5 days. I always go with the most affordable option but if the buyer would like express delivery they can request this.

Returns:

Since commissions are custom pieces, returns are not accepted.
