Commission Your Own Portrait That Will Outlast Everything Else
I only accept a small number of commissions each year. Once they're filled, you'll have to wait until next year.
There's only one way to truly preserve a moment in time …
In 1897, a Boston merchant commissioned a portrait of his daughter.
That painting still hangs in her families home … to this day.
The daughter is long gone.
But she’s still there, captured at 23, preserved in oil and canvas while everything else faded.
Photographs yellow …
Files corrupt …
But painting remains.
This is what a portrait is for.

The Process
It's simpler than you think. You share your vision, I handle the rest
Consultation
Complete the inquiry form. I'll respond personally to understand what you have in mind — the subject, the setting, the occasion, and what you want the portrait to feel like.
For larger or more complex pieces, we'll arrange a short video call. No obligation.
Agreement & Design
Once we've agreed on the direction, a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your place.
I then put together a composition — a visual mockup of the portrait, often assembled from your reference photos. You'll see exactly what you're getting before any paint touches the canvas.
Execution
The painting is built slowly. Oil on canvas, layer by layer — until the likeness, the light, and the soul of the subject are exactly right.
I'll keep you updated throughout, and there's room for small refinements along the way. Nothing is rushed.
Delivery & Legacy
The completed portrait is delivered as a finished, archival-quality work — prepared to last for generations to come.
What arrives is more than a painting. It's a way of keeping someone in the room long after they've left it.
